Description

Farmfilm is an exhibition of film works by young people from Belvedere Youth Club (Buckingham Street, Dublin 1)who developed work at Airfield (Dublin 14) for a year in partnership with film maker, Katie Lincoln. The exhibition also includes a new film work by Katie Lincoln.

Farmfilm 1, 2 & 3 were launched on Culture Night 2010 when they were projected at different sites around the farm at Airfield. The sites included a potting shed, a hayshed and a polytunnel. The film works will show again in the Buckingham Street area of Dublin city in Spring 2011. The project was supported by the Arts Council’s Artist in the Community Scheme, managed by Create.

Between Autumn 2009 and Summer 2010 film maker Katie Lincoln worked with a group of young people from Belvedere Youth Club, filming animal and plants across the seasons at Airfield farm and gardens. The young people chose their own subject matter, using the camera as a tool which allowed them to actively access pens and fields and enabled them to closely explore and contemplate farm animals and botanic specimens including a Mexican succulent over 120 years old. Katie also produced a new film work over the duration of the project (Farmfilm 3).
