Description

Beth O'Halloran made an installation of floor-to-ceiling paintings of a forest at dawn for the foyer of the newly built Scoil Ghrainne Community NS, Phibblestown, Dublin 15 under a County Dublin VEC per cent for art scheme. Commissioned in 2010 she completed the work in early 2011. These very large scale oil-paintings are to suggest a landscape that is both magical and wondrous for the young children as they enter the school and leave through its foyer everyday. It is also the area where parents congregate while waiting to collect their children after school, and where the school office and reception area is.
