Per Cent for Art Call - St Kilian’s NS, Mullagh, Co Cavan

St Kilian’s NS, Mullagh, Co Cavan, wishes to commission a site specific public artwork/s and is now calling for expressions of interest from experienced and suitably qualified artist(s), or design team under the “Per Cent for Art Scheme”. This scheme is funded by the Department of Education and Science. The total budget available for the artwork is €28,000 (including VAT)

The selection process will take the form of a two-stage open competition. It is open to all interested professional artists. Selection will be based on the quality of the information, the feasibility of the proposal and track record of the artist/s involved.

International submissions are welcome.

Greystones Educate Together National School appointed a voluntary committee with relevant expertise to oversee the per cent for art commissioning process. An external curator, Máire Davey, was appointed specifically for her expertise in working in a highly collaborative way as meaningful involvement from the students and school was viewed as central to the process. The procurement route chosen was limited invited competition.
