Event: Verge publication symposium, Mon 19 April, GMIT

Date: Monday 19 April 2010, 2.30pm - 6pm

The aim of this symposium is to consider the form and content of a new
visual art publication, VERGE. The publication is intended as an alternative to urban-based visual arts publications and contains articles from writers, artists and poets on issues relating to rural arts and profiles of pertinent projects.

Each speaker in the symposium has particular knowledge to bring to this discourse - visual arts practice, art history, sociology, agriculture, heritage and critical theory. It is intended that they bring an external perspective to the publication and stimulate an open interrogation of the direction and dissemination of future research at the institute.
