Caring Culture: Art, Architecture and the Politics of Public Health

Caring Cultures

First publication in the 'Actors, Agents and Attendants' series of initiatives

Sternberg Press has published Caring Culture: Art, Architecture and the Politics of Public Health, edited by Andrea Phillips and Markus Miessen.

The publication was commissioned by SKOR, the Amsterdam based Foundation for Art and Public Domain / Stichting Kunst en Openbare Ruimte, and arose from a symposium that took place in 2010 in the Felix Meritis Foundation, Amsterdam.

As well as political and philosophical essays and interviews relating to civil well-being, the book brings together case studies of artistic and design interventions within health and social care institutions.

The original symposium was part of 'Actors, Agents and Attendants', an on-going series of events initiated by SKOR to investigate the role of cultural practice in the organisation of the public domain.
