Urban Realm Public Art Commission

Test Valley Borough Council wish to commission an artist to create public art works in Andover that highlight and identify the pedestrian route from the Andover Bus Station to The Lights arts and entertainment venue. The works of art will engage with and celebrate the audiences of The Lights, both existing and new, and create a strong sense of place.

Main commission for lead artist: £31,000 - closing date, Friday the 20th of May 2016.

Through this public art programme the Council also wish to create opportunities for emerging artists in the Test Valley to experience the commissioning process including community engagement work, design and fabrication.

Commission for mentee artist: £3,500, closing date, Friday the 20th of May 2016.

Greystones Educate Together National School appointed a voluntary committee with relevant expertise to oversee the per cent for art commissioning process. An external curator, Máire Davey, was appointed specifically for her expertise in working in a highly collaborative way as meaningful involvement from the students and school was viewed as central to the process. The procurement route chosen was limited invited competition.
