Commission Call - Made in Corby

Deadline: 1st August

Made in Corby’s Oakley Vale Art Panel are commissioning an ambitious, world-class artist to create site-specific art for Oakley Vale’s central parkland in south Corby, Northamptonshire.

This commission will become a feature in the area, a signpost, invigorating civic pride and creating a distinctive landmark for all living and travelling through the area as well as creating Oakley Vale as a destination. The commission will celebrate the heritage and history of Oakley Vale through engaging with a contemporary artist to create new, site-specific work.

This is an opportunity for two Corby-based artists to receive three half-days of mentoring each from the lead artist.

An external curator, Máire Davey, was appointed specifically for her expertise in working in a highly collaborative way as meaningful involvement from the students and school was viewed as central to the process. The procurement route chosen was limited invited competition.
