Boundary
Artist Name(s) | Fiona Woods |
Artwork title | Boundary |
Context/Background | Fiona Woods' current practice is concerned with the idea of emergence, in which change is more than just a rupture or negation of that which already exists. Woods attempts to reconfigure the boundary between the human and non-human may open up the perspective of beings as events within a network of relations, rather than discrete objects located in a time and space from which they are separate and separable. This work is located at an interface between the institutional site of art and the "lifeworld", staging situations and identities in an absurd effort to identify emergent subjectivities. |
Description | These images are part of an ongoing series of performative photographs, staging a liminal zone of undecidability between the human and non-human worlds. These assemblages lean towards the limits of the human, absurd in their efforts to suggest modes of emergent subjectivity |
